SO THEN, AS LONG AS WE WERE SPEAKING OF AFRIKA EARLIER ……….

I leave you with interesting bit from the Mail .... Not that it makes me feel all fuzzy and warm but ......

SO, JUST WHO IS AFRICA’S UNLIKELY ANGEL OF MERCY?

Amanda Platell

World Aids Day passes with Sting and Bono jostling to claim credit for their contribution to reducing deaths from the disease in Africa. Yet it’s worth remembering the person largely responsible for tackling the problem is President Bush, whose Emergency Plan for Aids Relief pumped $ 15billion into Africa to fund HIV/Aids treatment and care, saving around a million lives. Curious, isn’t it, that while the two preening pop stars are hailed as saints, you never hear a kind word about the ex-President.

Drews post, Let’s Put Air Shocks On The Bus, and Abraham Lincoln

H/T Macker for this.

image

Until Drew’s post yesterday, I had never heard of this guy.  It’s so totally beyond the pale, as to be almost unbelievable.  That it’s beyond reason goes without saying.  I don’t get it. I don’t understand. I don’t accept this kind of public perversion, but then why not? Look at what passes for public entertainment these days.  Look what passes for acceptable and normal behavior. Look what passes for art and talent.  Look to the left and their values.  Things are accepted today that at one time would have shamed people.  But shame doesn’t seem to play a very large roll in public life anymore.  And to be very, brutally honest, conservatives have not been able to stem the tide. Have we?  And in our own defense I should also say we never really stood a chance of doing so.  Because the enemy is, and no surprise is it? Us.

I did see the links Drew provided and he was right.  Pretty damn sick stuff.

I had been going on about what I call our 5th column for so long, that even I got sick of it.  Doesn’t make it less true though.

Which leads me to this.  I found it in the preface to a book I read only in the last week.  It is credited to Abraham Lincoln. I thought it fit.

“At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means means shall we fortify against it?  Shall we expect some trans-Atlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow?

Never!

All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined ...  could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.

At what point then is the appraoch of danger to be expected?

I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us.  It cannot come from abroad.  If destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be its author and finisher.  As a nation of free men, we must live through all times, or die by suicide.”

Abraham Lincoln

PART TWO, THE ROMANCE OF HILLARY AND DAVID … IS IT REALLY LOVE THIS TIME? BABANAS FOR CIGARS?

To be fair and honest here, and really I should be otherwise I become the left, I have found flattering and very nice photos of these two people. But as you know, cameras shoot a many fames per second and every twitch and twist is caught too quickly to ever undo. Except with PhotoShop. However, I chose to post these photos instead.

Hillary Clinton and David Miliband all touchy-feely as she indulges her ‘toyboy crush’ at Nato meeting ( PART TWO)
By MAIL FOREIGN SERVICE
Last updated at 2:20 PM on 04th December 2009

Or, perhaps not - perhaps Hillary Clinton is, once again, taking the ‘special relationship’ a little too literally.

The U.S. Secretary of State collapsed in a fit of girlish giggles during a Nato meeting today at Mr Miliband’s presumably witty comments.

Mrs Clinton owned up to an unlikely crush on the ‘vibrant, vital, attractive, smart’ British Foreign Secretary last month.
Speaking in Vogue magazine, Mrs Clinton, 62, joked with an interviewer about Mr Miliband’s accent. ‘Well, if you saw him it would be a BIG crush,’ she said.

‘I mean, he is so vibrant, vital, attractive, smart. He’s really a good guy. And he’s so young!’
Her remarks are an unlikely compliment for Mr Miliband, who has often been teased about his geeky image.

imageimage

Former Labour spin doctor Allistair Campbell famously called him ‘Brains’ - not because of his formidable intellect, but for of his resemblance to the nerdish puppet character of the same name in the children’s programme Thunderbirds.

Mr Miliband also seems taken with his American counterpart.

Today he seemed to take delight in teasing the former First Lady - and looked distinctly unimpressed when another man joined their tete-a-tete.
Last month he said Mrs Clinton was ‘delightful to deal with one on one’ and added: ‘She’s someone who laughs and can tease, and she’s got perspective as well.’

MELANIE PHILLIPS: Arrogant, ignorant and out of his depth, is Banana Boy Miliband our worst Foreign Secretary ever?

The most startling thing about David Miliband is that he has been taken as seriously as he has for so long.

His latest achievement is to have upset the government of India so badly that it has reacted with unprecedented public fury. This is because on his visit there last week he suggested that the only reason India was targeted by Islamic terrorism was its dispute over Kashmir, and that the government of Pakistan had played no part in the terrorist attack on Mumbai last November.

In a much-mocked article he wrote in the Guardian, he claimed that Islamic terrorism did not have one unifying characteristic but was merely caused by different grievances - such as Kashmir - and that the best way of dealing with it was not through confrontation but ‘co-operation’.
For a Foreign Secretary to display as he did such ignorance about the nature and antecedents of global Islamic terrorism was simply astounding.

Ah le belle France … There’s wonder and romance and blue skies and it’s all in the USA.

THE JOY OF FRANCE, MADE IN AMERICA

A promotional video showing the joys of the French way of life was filmed in America, it has emerged.

The film, made for the UMP Party of President Nicolas Sarkozy, shows an eco-friendly house with solar panels on the roof, smiling children and a mom hugging a little girl in a sunny garden.

A voice over boasts about Mr. Sarkozy’s achievements since 2007, and the benefits of living in France.

However, the French TV channel, Channel+, discovered that most of the footage was bought from Getty Images with the family house and hugging mother in California, and class of schoolchildren in Wisconsin

Home-grown terrorism: our values are not optional for minority groups.

I’ve had this for a number of days and finally getting it posted.  I know it’s a bit long but it really is worth your time reading it.

It would be better if we enforced Britain’s cultural values on immigrant communities, rather than allowing them to dictate government policy

By Janet Daley
Editorial
The Telegraph

How do you create a home-grown terrorist? For a while, Britain seemed to hold the copyright on the formula for this. First, you import a huge number of people from places where there are unresolved historical conflicts, with no stipulation that they learn anything about their adopted homeland (not even its language). Then you make no attempt to integrate these groups – which are large enough to constitute self-sustaining communities – into the culture and political traditions of the country that is now their home, nor do you advise the schools to inculcate any sense of pride or pleasure in the new national identity to which they are entitled. Indeed, you do precisely the opposite of this: you positively encourage not only the incomers themselves but their British-born children to maintain a separate, inward-looking ethnic community that stands apart from the mainstream life of the society and whose values may conflict with it.

So eager are you to show that you accept other cultures whose attitudes and assumptions (on, for example, the treatment of women) are opposed to the official values of your society, that you benevolently overlook what is being taught in their schools even when those schools are being supported by government funding. When your Government is caught in the act of having provided such funding, as happened last week with schools in Slough and Haringey, both of which had a history of links with the Muslim extremist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir, the ensuing row is on purely technical points: which school officials held, or were connected to people who held, actual positions in the organisation on what dates? The question of whether schools with an explicitly separatist ethos should qualify as providing acceptable basic education is not even addressed.

So there it is: an instant recipe for estrangement and alienation that can turn (or be turned), in susceptible personalities under the right circumstances, into terrorist fodder. Until recently, as I say, we led the world in this particular specialism: the United States in particular was inclined to believe that the phenomenon of the native (as opposed to foreign) terrorist was a peculiarly British problem, which is why it introduced additional security measures to apply to visa‑waiver UK passport holders.

But the US, having been confident that it was a country that knew what was required for the successful absorption of immigrant groups, has now produced a home-grown terrorist of its own, and the controversy that this event has inspired is not irrelevant to our debate (to the extent that we are permitted to have one) in Britain.

When the Muslim American Major Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, he did not just murder his military colleagues: he killed the American illusion that “it couldn’t happen here”. And he unleashed an argument not just on practical topics such as racial profiling but on the much wider question of how much America’s foreign policy decisions – how it should conduct itself in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example – should be influenced by the feelings of minority groups within the US itself.

This dispute revolves around the personality of Major Hasan: was he just an unbalanced individual for whom Islamic fundamentalism was nothing more than a delusional pretext for a psychotic break? This account has gained favour in Left‑wing American circles for fairly obvious reasons: it allows Islamic fundamentalism to become simply an unwitting accomplice to the act, rather than its actual cause, and the act itself to be seen as a random, unreasoning crime rather than a terrorist attack. No big national problem here: just a nutter whose instability should have been spotted sooner but whose religious-cum-political “motives” can be ignored.

According to commentators on the Right, such as Charles Krauthammer, this thesis is a pernicious attempt to “medicalise” Major Hasan’s crime in the interests of avoiding any implication that there was a meaningful connection between his Islamic religious beliefs and his act. By defining the act as literally meaningless (insane), defenders of the liberal orthodoxy are not taxed by the problem of how to deal with a possibly murderous minority within their own country.

The Left-liberal camp is now in the rather uncomfortable position of holding two contradictory interpretations of Major Hasan’s actions. There is the one that Mr Krauthammer describes: this incident is a one-off act of lunacy, so the fact that Hasan was a Muslim is of no importance (even if he thinks it was – after all, he is insane).

But the other argument made by the Left puts Hasan’s religion at the centre of his action: Muslims, even ones born and bred in the US, are being driven to violence by American foreign policy. It is the perceived American assault on Islamic peoples and countries that is responsible for pushing borderline personalities – who have been made susceptible by their cultural introversion – into extreme associations. So the conclusion is roughly this: the only possible way to avoid radicalising any more vulnerable, borderline psychotics who happen to be Muslims is to change our foreign policy so as not to inflame their hyperactive sensitivities.

Quite apart from the question of whether any ethnic group should be allowed to dictate government policy under the threat of violence, isn’t there a bizarre precedent here? Suppose an element within the animal rights lobby were to engage in a programme of major urban terrorism and threaten to persist until the consumption of meat was banned. Would we seriously entertain the idea that to continue to sell meat was an inexcusable provocation to a dangerous, unstable minority? And can there be any certainty about the causes of such provocation among Muslims? The grievances of Palestinians are the most frequently cited source of global Islamic anger, but most of the Pakistani recruits to Islamic fundamentalism in Britain have closer links with the Kashmiri cause than to any problems in Gaza. Add to this that a good few of those convicted of terrorist acts have been converts (such as Richard Reid, the shoe bomber) who had no inherited ties to any Muslim country.

What a miasma of moral confusion we are succumbing to – all for the sake of avoiding a question that must be asked: how does a liberal society cope with a minority in whose name acts of violence are carried out in its midst? Surely the answer must involve a much more muscular liberalism: a robust belief in the values that permit people of different beliefs to live together peaceably and an unapologetic determination to enforce those values in every quarter of the

Does this need any text to go with it?  Didn’t think so either. Comments always welcome.

This Garland fellow is very talented, his illustrations often are right on target. Except for those many times he annoys me and where I don’t agree.
Then he somehow becomes less brilliant.  Anyway ... this should be shared on it’s own and so I am.

It appeared in the morning Telegraph today.

I am not 100% certain this is sharp on everyone else’s monitor.  The blue nato flag on the left behind barbed wire is a bit blurry on mine. So I hope you folks can see it better.  Says it all, huh?

The lead headline in the morning paper says:  TALIBAN FACE KNOCK-OUT BLOW

Does anyone believe that? I’d like to but the evidence of centuries seems to say that there really are ppl in this world who prefer living in squalor and ignorance. And they will kill to keeps things that way.

COP KILLER SHOT DEAD …. GOOD.  NOW DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT USELESS GOV. impeach?

I’m not posting the entire article because I don’t see the need.  Link below as usual.  I suspect that you folks back home already have all the info anyway.

The man with as much blood on his hands is surely Mike Huckabee.  WTF was that idiot thinking by releasing this worthless darky?  This useless piece of crap who should have been LYNCHED YEARS AGO!  And when someone is on release, when they re-offend don’t they go back inside quickly?
Oh right.  They don’t if if they belong to a favored minority.
Huckabee is defending his decision to release this bastard.  When did he join the left wing hand wringers?

Justice System my freekin ass.

US police ‘killer’ Maurice Clemmons shot dead in Seattle

A man suspected of killing four police officers in a Seattle coffee shop two days ago was shot dead this morning.

Police radio traffic monitored over the internet suggested that the suspect, Maurice Clemmons, was cornered by a house in South Kenyon Street, in the Rainier Valley area of the city, at 2.40am today.

The sequence of events is not yet clear but Mark Rahner, a journalist for the Seattle Times, tweeted from the scene that Clemmons challenged police and was shot. Clemmons was already wounded after one of his victims managed to draw a weapon during the killings on Sunday.

After his capture, the suspect was taken to the Harborview hospital, according to traffic on the police scanner. A police spokesman confirmed later that he had been fatally shot.

TIMES

BTW .... It’s reported that the negro’s sister dressed his wound and drove him to Seattle.  You can imagine what I think should be done with her.
I can’t say it out loud here. As far as I’m concerned, she’s as guilty as her brother and Huckabee.

Not so sure this is a great idea.  Except for MSFT (mis-fit) if it works.

Microsoft (MSFT) kinda reminds me of the old Al Capp cartoon with General Bullmoose.
“If it’s good for General Motors, it’s good for the USA.” Bah.  Most of you too young to recall that.

Hey ... finally felt well enough to get my butt in gear and go see the doctor.  They have just moved to new and more modern offices less then a mile down the road. Or maybe almost a mile. Trouble is, there isn’t any bus from our general area that goes anywhere near there. Forget walking in this weather and anyway, all the damn coughing has played havoc with ribs and stomach. Not to mention chest. Walking is not an option as well when your feet don’t alway perform the way nature intended them to.  So, the wife had to drive me there and sorry to say, she’s now developing what I just had. And she refuses to see a doctor.  Who kind of gave me what for, for waiting so long to see him as I have this chest infection for which the over the counter stuff does nothing.  I’m being long winded again but the reason for all this is my way of leading up to what I read in the instructions that came with the 50mg Doxycycline I was given. I think it’s funny. Here’s exactly what they say.  You couldn’t make it up.

YOU SHOULD TAKE THE CAPSULES EITHER SITTING DOWN OR STANDING UP

So I guess I can’t take em while laying flat on my back while reading a book. Which isn’t at all how I read a book anyway.
Standing up or sitting down.  ???  What exactly have I missed?  Must be here somewhere.

OK, bad news on the leaky roof thing and btw, we have a bad “rising damp” problem too. More on those later.

Microsoft makes move on the news

23rd November 2009

Rupert Murdoch has accused search engines such as Google of ‘stealing the news’
Microsoft has held secret talks with some of the world’s biggest media groups over a plan that could see millions of news stories pulled from Google.
In its most direct attack on Google yet, the software giant is understood to have offered to pay news organisations for providing their content exclusively through Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

Microsoft has held discussions with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, which owns The Times and The Sun newspapers, along with a number of other media groups, sources said.
The move would see millions of news stories and feature articles blocked from the Google News service.
Severing his links with Google would represent a huge gamble for Murdoch, who like many other media owners is struggling to adapt to a world where consumers are used to getting news for free.

Google brings millions of visitors to News Corp sites, which in theory should boost the conglomerate’s online revenues.
But Murdoch believes that Google gets the better end of the deal, recently accusing search engines of ‘stealing our stories’.
‘It costs us a lot of money to put together good newspapers and good content,’ the media mogul said last week.

The Times will start charging visitors to its website in the spring, with other titles across the Murdoch empire expected to follow suit.
Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times already charge hefty subscription fees for access to their websites. But experts say this works only because business executives are prepared to pay for their specialised content.

The case for getting consumers to pay for general news is less clear cut.

Online advertising revenues have so far come nowhere near to off-setting the collapse in newsstand and advertising revenues.
One possible solution is a system of micro-payments, where consumers would pay a small sum for each article or story they view.
For Microsoft, the friendly approach to the media industry is a bold statement of intent.

Microsoft re-launched its search engine as Bing this year and looks to be prepared to pay out hundreds of millions to unseat market leader Google.
Microsoft and News Corp declined to comment.

Not too sure about Mr. Murdoch. Are you?

Girl, 5, ‘sold for sex by her mother’ discovered dead ….. UPDATE

Miserable damn scum. Both of em.  I hope that state has the death penalty.
Saw this and had to stop what I was doing.
What kind of animals, what sort of filthy excuse for human beings do this sort of thing?  She was still a baby for gosh sake.
Damn it this kind of thing rattles the hell out of me.  I am even more pissed off because I can’t personally kill the two of them. They don’t need to live.

I feel the same way towards any lawyer that comes forward to defend them or speak on their behalf.  There are just some things that cry out for retribution.  There are some crimes that go way beyond the need for, “a fair trial.” Anyway, if they have a trial of their ‘peers’ then what sort of a jury would that be?  Twelve pedophiles?

Girl, 5, ‘sold for sex by her mother’ discovered dead at the side of a U.S. road

By Mail Foreign Service
Last updated at 12:17 PM on 18th November 2009

A missing five-year-old girl allegedly sold into prostitution by her mother has been found dead, it was revealed this morning.

Shaniya Davis had been missing since November 10 after she was last seen being carried into a hotel room by a man.

FBI agents and U.S. Marshalls joined the nationwide search for the toddler amid fears she had been sold to a paedophile ring.

image image

An arrest warrant issued for the 25-year-old said she allowed her daughter to be taken ‘with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.’

Davis, who is pregnant, first reported her daughter missing last Tuesday.

Police were suspicious of her story after reviewing a timeline of the events leading up to her disappearance from a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

They later found CCTV footage from a hotel 40 miles from Fayetteville showing the five year old girl being carried into a hotel room by Mario McNeill.

Mario McNeill, 29, was charged with first-degree kidnapping

She had not been seen since and her mother has refused to cooperate with police.

The girl had only been living with Davis for three weeks, according to her father Bradley Lockhart.

He had primary custody of the girl, but had agreed to let her stay with her mother after she found a place to live and held a job for six months.

Lockhart broke down in tears at a press conference last night when he sobbed: ‘Everybody makes it a point not to ignore, to look past a situation where a person, a child, or anybody might be in danger ... so that we don’t have another tragedy like Shaniya.’

He said authorities have given him limited information, but he was to meet with them later.

‘It’s not the result I wanted, it’s not the result any father or family would want for their children,’ he said.

‘But God has a greater calling for all of us.’

Police have not charged anyone with molesting Shaniya, but said the investigation is ongoing.

The man accused of taking her, Mario Andrette McNeill, turned himself in on Friday. Police said he admitted to kidnapping the child and has been charged.

CCTV footage shows Shaniya in the company of McNeill near a hotel on the day she was kidnapped.

According to arrest documents, Davis ‘knowingly provided Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude’ and she ‘permitted an act of prostitution’.

Shaniya’s half-sister, Cheyenne Lockhart, spoke on the U.S. talkshow Nancy Grace on Monday.

She said that she found it difficult to believe Davis had treated her daughter so poorly.

‘She seemed like the sweetest woman. She didn’t come from much, but ... she had the sweetest voice, she had the sweetest personality, and especially toward me,’ said Ms Lockhart, who shared a father with Shaniya.

‘I would never think that she would do anything like that.’

Their father said Shaniya went to her mother’s home on October 9.

Some news from my home state. Grumble. Yeah. California. Hey, be nice.

Right I know. Land of fruits and nuts.
And muslims too.

H/T LyndonB

I’m sorry nobody with a gun was there to shoot the bastard graveyard dead. Easy peasy. Just claim the fear of a bomb or a weapon. What jury would convict?
But no.  He’ll get an interpreter at public expense of course.  Then a trial although I will never understand why anyone should be entitled to one of those in circumstances like this one.  He was there.  There are witnesses.  He did what he did.  What’s left to discover?  A bullet would have been cheaper.

We really do desperately NEED Vigilante Justice!  It worked beautifully in 1849 in that state.  It can work again.  It just needs a chance.

Man arrested for ‘anti-Christian mall disturbance’ to appear in court again Thursday Deputy DA keeps bail at $27K, orders Hasim to stay away from Stoneridge Shopping Center

by Emily West
Pleasanton Weekly Staff

Deputy District Attorney Ronda Theisen requested the bail for Abdul Walid Hamid stay at $27,000 as the 22-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of battery, grand theft, exhibition of a deadly weapon and a possible hate crime.

Police arrested 22-year-old Hamid of Hayward Wednesday evening after he reportedly robbed a man and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Calling it a bizarre case, Theisen also asked that Hamid, who is still in custody, be ordered to stay out of the mall if he does post bail and leaves jail.

Through an interpreter, Hamid requested a public defender and was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Thursday where he is expected to enter a plea.

According to reports, Hamid was yelling “Allah is power” and “Islam is great” while holding a pen in a fist over his head and witnesses said he had been shouting anti-Christian comments.

Pleaanton Police Lt. Mike Elerick said the man was not provoked and didn’t threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off a man’s neck.

Police said they weren’t aware of a prior criminal history for the man.

“We had multiple people calling 911,” Elerick said. “One female was crouching down and hiding from him. He definitely scared quite a few people.”

We hate to think this sort of sickness can be alive and well in the USA too.  SICK!

Worse then sick and the death penalty should be applied without trial.  There HAS to be a message sent to these freaks and sickos that this will NOT be tolerated.  Fat chance of that.  It says she isn’t co-operating.  Of course not. Why the hell should she when, SHE KNOWS HER RIGHTS!
Bet she’d she’d damn sure talk if anyone here at BMEWS got our hands on the filthy, miserable bitch. Oh boy, would she talk.

How could she? Antoinette Nicole Davis, is accused of selling her five-year-old daughter Shaniya Davis into prostitution

U.S. police were today hunting for a missing five-year-old girl who was sold for sex by her mother.

Shaniya Davis has been missing for six days after she was last seen being carried into a hotel room by a man.

FBI agents and U.S. Marshalls have joined the nationwide search for the toddler amid fears she had been sold to a paedophile ring.

Police have charged the girl’s mother Antoinette Davis with human trafficking and prostitution offences.

She has not been seen since and her mother has refused to cooperate with police.

Asked if police think the girl is still alive, Fayetteville police Sgt. John Somerindyke said: ‘We sure hope so.’

The girl had only been living with her mother for three weeks, according to her father Bradley Lockhart.

He had primary custody of the girl, but had agreed to let her stay with her mother after she found a place to live and held a job for six months.

Lockhart broke down in tears at a press conference when he sobbed: ‘I just want her to come back safe.’

Police have not charged anyone with molesting Shaniya, but said the investigation is ongoing.

The man accused of taking her turned himself in on Friday. Police said he admitted to kidnapping the child and has been charged with kidnap.

According to arrest documents, Davis ‘knowingly provided Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude’ and she ‘permitted an act of prostitution.’

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
